Logs

Audit logs and activity history for dental clinics

Every creation, edit and deletion is recorded with the person who made it, the branch and the time. When a price changed, an appointment moved or a record vanished, the answer is in the log rather than in a conversation.

A record of what happened, not just what is true now

The current state of a patient file tells you what it says today. The log tells you what it said last week and who changed it, which is the question that actually gets asked.

  • Operations created, edited and deleted
  • Appointments moved, cancelled and marked as no-show
  • Price and discount changes, with the before and after
  • Patients created and merged
  • Invoices voided and payments reversed

Attribution on every entry

A log without a name on it is a list. Every entry carries the user, their role, the branch and the timestamp, so the record answers who as well as what.

  • User, role and branch on every action
  • Timestamps in the clinic’s own timezone
  • Filterable by user, by action type and by date
  • Exportable for an investigation or an audit

Security events alongside clinical ones

Logins, failed logins, active sessions and permission changes sit beside the clinical and financial activity, because the useful question usually spans both.

  • Login and failed-login history per user
  • Active sessions, revocable by an administrator
  • Permission group changes recorded
  • Two-factor status per account

Who reads the log

Nobody reads an audit log until they need one, at which point nothing else will do.

Owners

What changed on a file, an invoice or a price, and who changed it.

Practice managers

Whether a cancellation, a discount or a deletion followed the process.

Anyone facing an audit

An exportable history with attribution, rather than a reconstruction.

No history versus a full log

Systems without an audit trail force you to trust the current state, and to settle disputes by memory.

Doing it by hand

  • Changes discovered by accident
  • No way to say who edited a price
  • Deleted records simply gone
  • Logins untracked
  • Audits reconstructed from memory

With Dentolize

  • Every change recorded as it happens
  • User, role and branch on every entry
  • Deletions logged with who made them
  • Login and failed-login history per user
  • An exportable, filterable history
Questions

Logs — frequently asked

What is recorded in the audit log?

Creations, edits and deletions across operations, appointments, patients, invoices, payments, prices and discounts, plus security events like logins, failed logins and permission changes.

Can I see who changed a price?

Yes, with the previous and new value, the user, the branch and the time.

Are deletions recoverable?

The deletion itself is always logged with who performed it. Whether the record can be restored depends on the type — ask us about your specific case during setup.

Can the log be filtered?

Yes, by user, action type, branch and date range, and the result can be exported.

Who can read the logs?

Access is set by permission group, so it can be limited to owners and administrators rather than being open to the whole team.
