Dental post-op instructions
The sheet a patient reads at home that evening, with a numb lip and a mouthful of gauze. Large type, what is normal, what to do and what to avoid with how long, when to call, your phone and WhatsApp, and the next visit.
How to use it
Pick the treatment
Twelve sheets: extraction, wisdom tooth surgery, implant, root canal, filling, scaling or deep cleaning, crowns and temporaries, new dentures, braces, aligners, whitening, and children after local anaesthetic.
Check every line
The points are general starting points. Edit them to match your protocol and save the sheet as your clinic’s version.
Add your numbers
Your clinic phone prints in large type, and your WhatsApp number as a QR code the patient scans to message you.
Print, or copy for WhatsApp
Hand over the sheet or save the PDF, or copy the instructions as text and paste them into the patient’s chat.
Written for the evening after the extraction
Instructions given in the chair, to a patient who is still numb, are half forgotten by the time they reach home. A sheet that says what is normal saves the anxious call about pink saliva or a stiff jaw on day two. One that says when to call makes sure the call that matters, about bleeding that will not stop or swelling that keeps growing, comes early.
The avoid list gives each point its time: no rinsing or straws for 24 hours, no smoking for at least 72. A patient keeps to a rule with an end far better than to a vague “for a while”.
No medicine names on the sheet
Every sheet says “take the pain relief your dentist advised” and stops there. Medicines and doses belong on the prescription, written by the dentist for that patient, not on a printed handout.
Save your design
Without saving, your clinic details, design and templates are cleared when the page reloads. Leave your email and they are kept in this browser from now on, and we will show you how they work in a Dentolize account, on every device and attached to patient files.

Questions
Is the post-op instructions tool free?
Yes, with no sign-up and no watermark on what you print.
Which treatments are covered?
Tooth extraction, wisdom tooth surgery, implant placement, root canal treatment, fillings, scaling and deep cleaning, crowns, bridges and temporary crowns, new dentures, braces, clear aligners, tooth whitening, and a sheet for parents after a child’s treatment with local anaesthetic. A blank sheet covers anything else.
Are the instructions checked for my clinic?
No. They are general starting points. Check and edit every line so the sheet matches the protocol your dentists use, then save it as your version.
Can I send it on WhatsApp?
A browser cannot attach a PDF to WhatsApp for you. Save the PDF and share it, or use Copy as WhatsApp text and paste the instructions into the chat.
Can the sheet be in Arabic and English?
Yes. Choose Bilingual and each section prints in both languages side by side.
Instructions that go out after every visit
In Dentolize post-operative instructions are sent to the patient over WhatsApp after the visit, from the patient record. Thirty minutes on your own clinic.
