Dental recall card
The card a patient takes home after a check-up or a scale and polish: when the next visit is due, worked out from today and the recall interval, and a QR code that opens a booking on WhatsApp or on your own booking page.
How to use it
Set up your clinic once
Name, logo, address and phone in the Letterhead tab, shared with every other tool. Add your WhatsApp number or booking link for the QR code.
Choose the visit and the interval
Check-up, scale and polish, or both, every 3, 4, 6 or 12 months. The due date is worked out from the visit date, and you can change it.
A sheet or one card
Ten cards on an A4 sheet, blank to fill in at the desk or with the due month printed for today’s patients, or one card with the patient’s name and a calendar file.
Print, cut and hand it over
Print on card, double-sided, and cut along the marks. Give it at the desk and say the month out loud.
Choosing the recall interval
Six months is a habit, not a rule. The NICE guideline on dental recall, which many clinics in the region follow, sets the interval by risk at each check-up: from 3 to 24 months for adults and from 3 to 12 months for children, depending on decay, gum health and how well the patient keeps their teeth clean.
In practice that is three or four months for a patient with active gum disease or new decay, six for most, and twelve for a low-risk adult with a clean record. Ticking the interval on the card tells the patient it was chosen for them, not copied from a calendar.
Why a card still earns its place
Reminder messages do the work nearer the time; the card is what sits on the fridge for the six months before. Hand it over while the patient is paying, say the month, and point at the code. A patient who heard “March” and holds a card that says March is the one who books when the reminder arrives.
The QR code holds the clinic’s booking link and a ready message, never the patient’s name, so one printed sheet serves every patient and nothing personal is printed into a code.
Save your design
Without saving, your clinic details, design and templates are cleared when the page reloads. Leave your email and they are kept in this browser from now on, and we will show you how they work in a Dentolize account, on every device and attached to patient files.

Questions
Is the dental recall card free?
Yes. No sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many sheets you print.
How is the due date worked out?
From the visit date plus the interval you choose. A visit on 31 August with a six-month recall is due on 28 February, the last day of that month. You can type a different date.
Should the card show a month or an exact date?
A month, if the patient will book nearer the time: it is the honest version of a recall. An exact date and time, if you book the next visit before they leave.
What does the QR code open?
A WhatsApp chat with your clinic and a ready booking message, or your own online booking page. Choose it in the Card tab.
Can the patient add the recall to their calendar?
Yes. With one card, Calendar file downloads an .ics file: an all-day reminder on the due date that alerts a week before, or a timed appointment if you set an exact date and time.
Is the patient’s name stored?
No. The name and dates stay in the page while you work and are gone when you close it. Only your clinic details and card settings are kept, in this browser, if you choose to save.
Recalls that go out on their own
In Dentolize recalls follow a rule you set once, and the patient is reminded on WhatsApp when the visit is due, without anyone keeping a list. Thirty minutes on your own clinic.
