Dental X-ray request

Tick the views, mark the teeth and write the question you want answered, so the radiology centre takes the right scan the first time and sends it back the way you read it.

How to use it

  1. Tick the examinations

OPG, CBCT, periapical, bitewing, cephalometric, occlusal or TMJ. Each opens only what the centre needs: field of view and region for a CBCT, the side for bitewings, lateral or PA for a ceph.

  2. Mark the teeth

On the chart, in FDI, Universal or Palmer. The request prints them on a small chart as well as by number.

  3. Write the question

Tick the reason, such as implant planning or an impacted third molar, and write what you need to know. Add the relevant history and earlier imaging.

  4. Choose how results come back

Email, WhatsApp, printed film or a disc, with DICOM files and the radiologist’s report when you want them. Pick a saved centre and print.

Why the clinical question matters

A request that says only “CBCT lower jaw” leaves the centre to guess the field of view, and a field larger than the question needs means more radiation for the patient and more volume for you to read. Naming the teeth and the question, such as bone height at 36 above the canal or how close 38 sits to the nerve, lets the centre choose the smallest field that answers it.

The pregnancy line prints as a question with boxes for the centre to ask and complete; the tool gives no advice on it. Each request is numbered and carries a small code with the clinic’s name, the number and the date, never anything about the patient.

Save your design

Without saving, your clinic details, design and templates are cleared when the page reloads. Leave your email and they are kept in this browser from now on, and we will show you how they work in a Dentolize account, on every device and attached to patient files.

The design and clinic details are kept in your own browser only. We receive your email and clinic name only: not the logo, not the signature and nothing about any patient.

Questions

Is the X-ray request free?

Yes, with no sign-up and no watermark on what you print.

Can I use it to request a CBCT for implant planning?

Yes. Tick CBCT, choose the field of view and the region, tick the radiographic stent if the patient brings one, and ask for DICOM files to plan in your own software.

Which tooth numbering does it print?

The one you choose: FDI by default, or Universal or Palmer. The teeth appear on a small printed chart as well as in the list.

Is the patient’s information stored?

No. The name, history and question stay in the page while you work and are never sent to us. Only your clinic details and your saved centres are kept, and only in your browser.

X-rays on the tooth they show

In Dentolize images are attached to the patient file and to the tooth in the dental chart, beside the treatment they led to. Thirty minutes on your own clinic.
